In the Bible, Philippians 4:13 states, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.  This is one of my favorite quotes in the Bible and I thought I would share that with you.  This is a verse that I always lean on as it gives me the wisdom and knowledge to know that God is with me throughout all of my struggles.

When some people read this verse, they almost think the physical aspect of actually doing something that is unimaginable.  For example, some ask, does this verse actually mean that I can turn a car into a camel?  Some people create many different thought and think that the words “all things” means that they can – let’s say – run a 40 yard dash in 2.5 seconds, or that they can lift a car with one hand.

In the beginning of Philippians chapter 4, Paul discusses with his readers to trust God, be grateful, and be content no matter what their circumstances they are going through.  Paul even points out his hardships and struggles that he personally suffered.

Let’s read Philippians Chapter 4, 11-12

  11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Right after this bible verse, Paul states “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, Philippians 4:13.  Paul gives his personal testimony that Jesus gave Paul the strength to carry him through his trials and struggles.

This verse does not imply that we can do anything that we want and God will give us strength.  It’s much deeper than that.  Jesus does not just issue miracles to people that ask the impractical things or to even test our Lord.  It just implies that God will give us strength during the tough times that we face for following and serving Him.

Sometimes, it’s just about being content with all things that are around you.  No matter what you have or don’t have, we should be content and live our lives to better ourselves in all that we do.  This doesn’t mean to be just stagnant and stale because we have to be content.  It just means for us not to lose ourselves for the things of this world, rather, live our lives to be the best that we can be.  God bless you all and bExtraordinary in all that you do.
